This Venetian Villa seems
to raise on the ruins of a Medieval castle.
Each façade is characterized by the presence of three-light windows surmounted
by a tympanum while a magnificent park surrounds the villa.
The complex consists also of a recently restored boathouse and a consecrated
oratory.
Giovan Francesco Sagredo lived here in the 17th century, he was friend of Galileo
Galilei who often came here to relax (popular tradition used to call the house
“the scientist’s sofa”).
According to the inhabitants of the area, the ghost of Giovannino, buried in
the adjacent oratory, still wanders by the rooms of the villa.
Villa Sagredo is now-a-days a renowned Restaurant; its park and boathouse are the elegant set for events and ceremonies.
