Spend the night from bacaro to bacaro

If you don't like the idea of sitting all the time in a restaurant waiting for midnight, one way to experience New Year's Eve in Venice like a local is to go from bacaro to bacaro.

The bacaros are the traditional taverns of Venice, where it is possible to have a drink (you cannot miss the famous Aperol Spritz!) and eat some of the typical Venetian tapas, the cicchetti.

In these small typical Venetian bars, you eat standing up and buffet. You buy a glass of wine or another drink, and you can taste the delicious appetizers.

The most typical thing on the night of San Silvestro is to walk from one “bacari” to another and eat and drink while enjoying the party atmosphere.

You can get closer and closer to San Marco Square so you don't miss the fireworks show! Surely it is a youthful and fun option to spend the end of the year in Venice.

As it is snack food, it is possible experience more the magical atmosphere of the night.

The areas with the most fun and youthful atmosphere are Cannareggio, the Rialto Bridge, and Campo Santa Margherita square.
